Jesus Christ was certainly not patriotic to Israel, his nation, although he was born a Jew and grew up in Israel and all of his 12 disciples were Jews.
In fact, Jesus Christ supported and encouraged paying taxes to the colonizing nation (“Caesar”) that occupied Israel; in other words, Jesus Christ was so unpatriotic to Israel that Jesus Christ supported the enemy regime (Roman Empire) that dominated and subjugated Israel. That’s how unpatriotic Jesus Christ was to His own nation.
Jesus Christ never taught his disciples to be patriotic to Israel.
In fact, Jesus Christ focused on the Kingdom of Christ and loyalty to the Kingdom of Christ (God).
Jesus Christ taught that His disciples must be loyal to the Kingdom of Christ on earth and put allegiance to the Kingdom of Christ above and over earthly nations. This is clear in the Gospels in the New Testament.
Here’s a good book on the concept of being loyal to the Kingdom of Christ: Loyalty to the Kingdom of Christ: Christian Responsibility in Politics and Society by Sven Pearl Johanson
Here’s a link to his book on Amazon website, so that you can obtain the book and read it. This book will help you understand the relationship between Christians and patriotism.
If we are to follow Jesus Christ seriously, according to the Gospels, then we would know that Jesus Christ was opposed to patriotism, especially when the nation rejects the Messiah and the fulfillment of the Word of God in the nation, as a matter of national policy.
